With current provincial health restrictions, the 100 Men were back to online meetings, but that didn't stop us from zooming past our goal for the evening and, incredibly, past a major overall milestone. More on that in a moment.

Things kicked off with a quick introduction of members and an intro video to help showcase the previous recipients from the inception of 100 Airdrie Men Who Give A Damn. It was a pleasant reminder of how much we've accomplished in a short time, the generosity of our group, and the worthwhile causes that our money is going towards.

Next, our guest speaker spoke for a few minutes. Shane Wenzel from Shane Homes talked about their company values and the work they do in the community. If you've lived in Airdrie for more than a week, you've surely seen some of the landmarks in our community made possible by Shane Homes such as the indoor fields and rinks at Genesis Place.

Finally, we were treated to a video update from our past recipient - Airdrie Lioness Club - about how they were able to do use our funds for their Christmas program. Great job, Brandy!

We then jumped into the presentations, which the three charities did via pre-recorded video in order to work with our meeting structure. It is no small feat to create these videos and each charity did what they always do - a fantastic job with no budget and short timelines, only made possible by their dedicated staff and volunteers. Their efforts did not go unnoticed.

As such, instead of recapping them, I'll let their videos speak for themselves.

First, the Airdrie and District Hospice Society presented:

Next up were the Boy Scouts:

Finally, we had the Airdrie and District Victims Assistance Society (ADVAS):

Votes were tallied electronically and as we awaited the final submissions, a round of amazing door prizes were awarded. We also had a live auction via the chat to award a custom cribbage board from Michael Sowerby and a $250 vehicle detail package from Peter Flannigan. The proceeds for each would go to the charities not selected for the main donation.

Between the two auctions, $900 was raised meaning $450 for each charity!

Even more amazingly, the $900 in auctions plus the $10,000 from our regular member meeting dues, means that for the lifetime of the 100 Airdrie Men Who Give A Damn, we surpassed $150,000!!

For this meeting, though, an incredibly close vote saw ADVAS coming away with this meetings donation. Congrats to ADVAS on $10,00 for your important charity!

A big thank you to all of our members. In particular, those members that donated prizes included: Billy Martin, David Maffitt, Richard Schultz, Mike Mierke, Jason Cosgrove, Ken Sorenson, Kevin Moore, Joe Dotto, and Eric Krautheim.
