How It Began
It Started With a Simple Idea
The idea behind 100 Men isn't new and it wasn’t ours originally. Similar groups have been bringing people together and giving back in communities across North America for years and the women's group actually started in Airdrie first.
What caught our attention was how simple it was: get a group of people together, pool relatively small individual contributions, and make a much bigger impact together than we could on our own.
Our group started the way many good ideas do: with a conversation at a pub. A few more guys were invited into the conversation, the idea started to take shape, and all of a sudden - in October 2017 - we held our first meeting.
We didn’t have everything figured out but we had an idea we believed in.
Why We Give a Damn
We wanted to create something that could make a real difference in Airdrie without asking a lot from the people involved. No major time commitment. No fundraising. Just four meetings a year and a simple way to make our individual contributions go further.
The social side mattered too. We believe there’s value in giving guys a reason to get together, meet others, share some laughs, and hear short but meaningful presentations from the changemakers in our commnity.
That combination of community, connection, and impact is really what 100 Airdrie Men is about.
Meet the Board
It takes a few guys behind the scenes to keep things running. Our volunteer Board handles everything from planning meetings and managing payments to developing sponsors and communcating with members.
